Calvin Klein Returns to NYFW: A Bold New Chapter in Fashion

After seven years, Calvin Klein returns to New York Fashion Week with a stunning debut under creative director Veronica Leoni. Discover the bold vision redefining the iconic brand.

Calvin Klein Returns to New York Fashion Week Under New Creative Vision

After a hiatus of nearly seven years, Calvin Klein is making an eagerly awaited return to New York Fashion Week (NYFW). The iconic brand will debut its first runway collection under the leadership of its new creative director, Veronica Leoni, marking a pivotal moment in the brand’s storied history. The last time Calvin Klein graced the NYFW stage was under Raf Simons in September 2018.

“This debut represents a new era of innovation and creativity for Calvin Klein,” said Eva Serrano, Global Brand President of Calvin Klein, in a statement. “Veronica’s vision honors the brand’s iconic heritage while embracing a bold new future. We are thrilled to share this with the world.”

A New Creative Era with Veronica Leoni

Leoni’s appointment, announced in May 2023, signaled a strategic evolution for Calvin Klein. The Italian designer, a 2023 LVMH Prize finalist and founder of the label Quira, brings a contemporary yet refined aesthetic to the brand. Her role encompasses ready-to-wear collections, as well as accessories and underwear for both men and women.

This marks a turning point for the brand, which transitioned into a mid-market powerhouse under PVH but moved away from the luxury strategies it once employed. Leoni’s debut positions Calvin Klein to reclaim its influence in high fashion while staying true to its minimalist roots.

Industry Leaders Welcome the Comeback

The return of Calvin Klein to NYFW has garnered widespread excitement from the fashion industry. Steven Kolb, CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), highlighted its significance:

“Calvin Klein Collection’s comeback at NYFW is a pivotal moment for both New York and the global fashion industry. The brand has played a foundational role in shaping American fashion, pushing boundaries with its bold interpretations of minimalism. We are excited to welcome them back to the official schedule and to celebrate the latest chapter in the brand’s storied history.”

Expanding Beyond the Runway

Calvin Klein isn’t stopping at the runway. The brand has announced plans to open a new flagship store in SoHo, New York, by the end of 2025. This 680-square-meter space on Broadway aims to merge the brand’s heritage with modernity, offering a physical representation of its reinvigorated vision.

A Bold Vision for the Future

With Leoni’s creative leadership and a renewed focus on blending heritage with innovation, Calvin Klein’s return to New York Fashion Week is more than just a comeback—it’s a redefinition of what the brand stands for in the modern era. From minimalist fashion statements to broader ambitions in retail, Calvin Klein is poised to captivate a new generation while staying true to its iconic roots.
